Hello! I’ve been practicing PT and teaching yoga since 1998. Since 2001, I’ve had my own private PT practice under the umbrella of Gudmestad Yoga and Physical Therapy, and have taught 4-6 yoga classes a week. I’ve been fortunate to be able to spend a full hour with patients at each PT visit, which is unlike most regular PT practices. Due to the sale of the Gudmestad facility, I decided to move my practice to my home in Lake Oswego.
I studied for many years to become a certified Iyengar yoga teacher and was certified in 2014. This is the most rigorous of yoga teaching certifications and required many years of dedicated practice and study. As a Physical Therapist, this training specifically called to me, with its roots in precision and alignment.
I originally graduated from U of O with an Accounting degree and went on to work for a “Big 8” CPA firm for 6 years and later into “industry” for another 3 years. This work did not satisfy me and I became intrigued with Physical Therapy given my sports background. I received my Masters in PT from Pacific University in 1998. Initially I worked in many different settings before settling into orthopedics and specifically using yoga therapy within the orthopedic environment.
When I’m not working or doing yoga, you may find me enjoying some active experience outside. I cycle, ski, rock climb, hike, and walk my dog.
